What Surrogacy in Rancho Cordova is like?
Just east of Sacramento lies a city that won the All-American City award twice in the last 15 years. With a population of over 80,000, safe communities, highly-rated public schools and programs, and scenic nature all around, Rancho Cordova is a great place to raise a family.
That’s why the surrogacy industry thrives here.
Where Do I Begin?
To begin, submit a form at LosAngelesSurrogacy.com or give us a call at 800-204-7129. Once we receive your form or phone call, we can set up an initial interview so you can get the information you need, and we can ask you questions to be sure we’re a good fit for each other.
When you partner with Los Angeles Surrogacy, you’re assigned one case manager that will be your point of contact and friend throughout your journey. This makes it easy to know exactly who to call should any obstacle or question arise.
From there, you will fill out an application form detailing your contact information, home address, and some financial details. We will educate you on your responsibilities and benefits as intended parents, go over the cost and legalities, and get all paperwork set in place to begin. You have the option to tell us any preferences you have for your journey and your surrogate partner, and then we set you up accordingly.
After we partner you up with a surrogate, you meet her and discuss with each other before your final decision is made. Once you decide on your perfect match, you both sign the contractual paperwork before the process officially begins.
Next Steps
Next, the surrogate begins her hormone injections to prepare her body for pregnancy. This step takes approximately two weeks, give or take depending on the individual.
Then, the surrogate undergoes the embryo transfer procedure. This is a surgery where the fertilized egg (which is an egg and a sperm from either the intended parents or from donors, that are combined in a medical facility) is transferred into her uterus. That’s where it can get the necessary nutrients and environmental factors it needs to grow into a healthy baby.
There is a “two-week wait” between the embryo transfer and the pregnancy test. If the pregnancy test comes back negative, intended parents and surrogate have the option to try again. This is very common and is why multiple eggs and sperm are collected.
If the pregnancy test comes back positive, then we wait! Your baby will be busy growing and developing in the next nine months.
Throughout these months, your case manager organizes and schedules medical check-ups and casual meet-ups for intended parents and for surrogate. Most partnerships like to celebrate milestones (like the start of a new trimester or the size of the growing child) together.
As delivery day comes near, the surrogate and intended parents sign one more piece of paperwork together – the pre-birth order. This declares the intended parents as the legal parents and allows them to make all medical decisions for the child immediately upon birth. It also makes it easy for parents to take their child home without any additional paperwork after the birth.
When delivery day arrives, your Los Angeles Surrogacy case manager is at the hospital with you to help alleviate stress or smooth out any problems. After your baby is born, there is one last piece of paperwork to wrap up your complete timeline of actions with us. Then, once your baby is cleared to leave by medical personnel, you are able to go home and enjoy the rest of your lives together.
Whether you live in the same town as your surrogate or a few countries over, you can often expect a Christmas card from her each year because of how your friendships will develop.
How Much Does Surrogacy Cost?
For intended parents, surrogacy can cost anywhere between $150,000-$250,000. We understand this is a wide range, but it truly depends on each individual case and the unique factors that build them.
Here is what you’re paying for:
-
Agency Fee
There is a fee to pay your case manager for all she does, as well to utilize Los Angeles Surrogacy’s safe and proven resources, like our surrogacy lawyer partners, our finance department, our medical partners and trusted fertility clinics, and our knowledge about the industry as a whole to help your journey run smoothly.
Your case manager sets up appointments, coordinates your schedule with that of your surrogate, lawyer, doctor, and more, ensures your surrogate has surrogacy-friendly insurance, and reviews and submits paperwork. She’s also always only one call away, should you have questions.
-
Surrogate Compensation
Your surrogate partner receives a base payment for her contribution to your surrogacy journey. She abides by your rules regarding her lifestyle, exercise, and diet choices to ensure your baby grows in a healthy environment. She injects herself with hormones and watches her body change over the course of nine months. She is also aware that giving birth is an intense medical procedure. Her exchange is a monthly paycheck.
-
Legal Fees
California requires the intended parents and the surrogate to acquire separate legal representation to ensure fair and equal legal defense. The fee covers drafting, negotiating, and signing contracts.
-
Medical Fees
Medical fees are perhaps the most costly section of fees. They include the surrogacy-friendly insurance payments and any fees necessary for hormones (for the surrogate to self-inject to prepare her body for pregnancy), the pregnancy test(s), check-ups, ultrasounds, and the hospital bill for delivery. This fee varies greatly based on what is needed for each surrogate and for each case. It may later include the price of a C-section if needed.
-
Reimbursements
This section is the smallest of all costs, and includes reimbursement for pregnancy-related expenses like vitamins, maternity clothes, etc. If a doctor advises the surrogate to rest at the end of the pregnancy, this section may include paying back her lost wages. The parameters of these reimbursements are discussed before the contract is signed, so intended parents are never surprised by a hefty bill.
